Next Event

Our Next Launch will be 7-28-19
We had amazing weather yesterday! 6-30-19
Calm and partly Cloudy virtually all day.
There were many flights of note:
  • Brian Hastings did a dual Deploy on a estes D-12, and some Research Dextrose F-50 and a J-300 Dextrose.
  • George Barnes IV flew his 3" black fly on a I-327 DM aerotech (tons of sparky), his Blue Angles DX# on a J 510 Both very nice flights as usual, and a G-25 Moon Burner in an estes Star Orbiter.    All very nice flights as usual.
  • Brian Duke from Henderson Nevada came all that way to attempt the Tripoli G altitude record I think he got the altitude, but unfortunately rocket was not returned in flyable condition. He flew an I-280 DM in his broken Arrow - More Sparkyness.
  • Tom Dugan from Conifer had two Nice flights with his endeavour an I-161 and an H-180.
  • Chris Cooley from Morrison launched his erobee I-154 and on an I-500
  • Adam DeCino got his Tripoli Level 2 with a J-270 Madcow torrent Congratulations, very nice flight!
  • Joe Bowen launched his Apache on a K650.
  • Daniel Malone attempted his NAR Level 1 with an I-229 in a pretty Black Brant. Was a great flight, but popped a fin on landing. Better luck next time!
There was a bunch of research engine testing Bdale brought his stand and Terry Lee helped. Bdale tested some sorbitol, Jamie Weiss tested various mixtures of Purple Pig AP propellant (Very nice flame color!), Joe Bowen got his Hybrid lit for a very nice burn, and Brian Hastings also did a test burn with dextrose. I think there were 12 research burns in all. They all lit and burned well! It was a great day for research!
All went well! Thanks Terry Hibbs for bringing the equipment trailer, Bdale for the test stand, Terry Lee for your help, and William Bussel for taking over as LCO and helping as needed. We had lots of Observers also It was a fun day!
Please come Join us at our next launch on July 28! Bring those sparkies you have laying around! They are almost always allowed.
